The Sovereign Grove

Self-sustaining Orchards for Idaho Estates

The Sovereign Framework

The Sovereign Grove designs permaculture orchards and food forests across the Treasure Valley — living, productive edible landscapes built to feed your family for generations.

Imagine harvesting fresh peaches, cherries, plums, apricots, apples, and more from your own property — with long-storage varieties like Korean Giant pear and Winecrisp apple that keep your family in homegrown fresh fruit from June through the following March. Every variety chosen to thrive in our climate and resist the diseases common across Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, and Caldwell.

Our orchards and edible landscapes are built on native companion plants and ecological design that attract beneficial insects, suppress pests naturally, and grow more productive with every passing year.

Three Ways to Get Started

Whether you want a turnkey one-acre orchard or the right plants and a plan to build your own, we have an option that fits your property and your budget.

Our flagship Sovereign Grove is a fully designed and professionally installed one-acre permaculture orchard — over 100 fruit trees, 400+ companion plants and native keystone species, and a complete irrigation system, all built to thrive in our high-desert climate from day one. We handle everything from site preparation and design to planting and irrigation so you can enjoy the harvest without the guesswork.

For those who want to do the planting themselves on a quarter acre space, The Sovereign Blueprint gives you a personal site visit, custom design for your property, and all the plants you need — with expert guidance every step of the way. Or start with The Sovereign Plant Pack — over 90 hand-selected trees and native plants with a detailed planting guide and personal consultation.

Every option is built on the same foundation: disease-resistant fruit varieties, native companion plants, and ecological design that reduces pest pressure naturally. The only difference is how much of the work you want us to handle.

All the plants you need to start your own 1/4 acre food forest. The Sovereign Plant Pack includes 30 disease-resistant bare-root fruit trees selected specifically for the Treasure Valley climate, 50 companion plant plugs that attract beneficial insects and build healthy soil, and 15 native keystone trees and shrubs. That's over 90 plants — fruit trees, perennials, and ecological backbone species — designed to work together as a complete system. Every pack includes a detailed planting guide and a one-hour personal phone consultation to help you succeed. Pre-order for Spring planting. Pickup in Weiser.

A Sovereign Grove orchard is designed to become more self-sufficient every year — but expert oversight keeps it performing at its best. We offer two levels of ongoing care. Our Biological Management Plan provides precision-timed visits throughout the growing season for structural pruning, biological pest monitoring, and seasonal assessments — the skilled work that requires professional knowledge and timing. Our Full Maintenance Plan covers all aspects of orchard care — pruning, pest protocols, companion plant care, path mowing, irrigation monitoring, seasonal management, and spring planting of productive annuals like melons, pumpkins, and sunflowers in open spaces throughout the orchard. Both plans include written reports after every visit.

We primarily support orchards we've designed and installed, but we're open to working with existing orchards on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to discuss what your property needs.

These aren't grocery store blackberries. They're sweet, full-sized, and ripen on the plant instead of in a shipping container. Twenty-five plants will give you a serious blackberry planting that produces year after year.

Shade Tree Package — $3,500

5 Keystone Varieties

Shade isn't just comfort — it's infrastructure. The right trees cut cooling costs, raise property values, block wind, and support hundreds of species of birds and beneficial insects. We select five proven varieties for the Treasure Valley that combine beauty, toughness, and ecological value. Trees come as bare root or in 3 gal fabric bags (5-8').

Your 50-tree package includes 10 each of trees like these:

  • Heritage Oak — A stately, fast-growing hybrid oak with excellent form and deep roots. Drought-tolerant once established.

  • Sensation Maple — Brilliant red, yellow and orange fall color on a tough, adaptable native framework. Not your typical box elder. An Idaho native Gem!

  • Princeton Elm — The classic American elm, reborn. Princeton is resistant to Dutch Elm Disease and brings back that iconic vase-shaped canopy.

  • Magnifica Hackberry — An improved hackberry selection with a strong central leader and clean form. One of the toughest, most wildlife-friendly shade trees you can plant.

  • White Shield Osage Orange — Thornless and fruitless. All the legendary toughness of Osage orange — none of the mess. A tree that laughs at drought, wind, and poor soil with beautiful yellow fall color.
